Within our Sahi Timber Wolf Den we offer an all-season camping program. Participation in our extensive camping program is considered to be a membership requirement, as these experiences play a significant role in the positive development of our youth.
Ask our Timber Wolves what they like best about our FNE program - they are most likely to answer - Camps! This is when they get the opportunity to get away with their brother Timber Wolves, and to experience being with and looked after by caring adults (other fathers) that do not make up a part of their family unit at home.
Each season has it's own unique opportunities and challenges. Our Timber Wolves are housed in suitable accommodations to meet the season - e.g. heated cabins and a dining hall for winter camp.
September - our boy leaders get away for a weekend not only to play, but to develop specific leadership skills. The weekend is used to help them grasp what it means to be a leader, how to communicate, to make a positive difference, to learn by having fun, to make it all a big game!
October - all of our Timber Wolves head off to camp to play in the leaves, to explore the land as winter approaches, to cook lunch over an open fire, to follow trails to find the treasure, and to truly see the changing season in nature around them. Program activities further help our Timber Wolves develop a better sense of brotherhood, while learning to appreciate and respect the differences that makes us all unique human beings.
February - old man winter is at its best as our Timber Wolves learn how to stay warm and dry, while racing down the toboggan hill, skating on a frozen lake, using snow shoes for the first time, building a snow shelter. Winter camp… playing in the falling snow, and trying to find your brother Timber Wolves in a game of "Capture the Flag", are just a few adventures.
June - every year we travel somewhere special, to get out into the world, to explore (just like our name Explorers), to be seen in public.
July - every summer (for our group leader, this is his 39th annual summer camp experience as Camp Director!) we trek off for the highlight of the entire year's program - Summer Camp! We swim, canoe, hike, explore, cook out over an open fire, fish, work on crafts, build things, and so much more!
Our FNE program is very much focused on the delivery of a dynamic, second- to-none program for our youth - please see camp-specific articles for further information.
