Montreal Pilgrimage 2005

(August 19-21, 2005)

Friday August 19th

06.45 a.m. Meet at Baythorn Public School, load vans, prepare to depart for Montreal

07.00 a.m. Depart for Montreal along designated travel route

10.30 a.m. Roadside stop, washroom break

11.45 a.m. Stop for lunch, boys to bring their own packed lunch

12.30 p.m. Meet in Cornwall, afternoon session, Mass and discussion with Legionaries of Christ.

Discussion subject: How to pray, and the benefits of Prayer

The Caplet of Divine Mercy, the history and prayers

Confession's to help prepare our Souls for the celebration of the Eucharist.

3.00 p.m. Mass with full participation and reflection on the part of the Timber Wolves and Explorers

4.00 p.m. Depart for Montreal (after a snack to provide energy for trip)

6.00 p.m. Arrive at camp site - set up in groups, change out of uniforms and evening swim before dark

7.30 p.m. Dinner - preparations with assistance from the boys

9.00 p.m. Evening prayers, discussion - The mystery and gifts of the Eucharist

10.30 p.m. Night time game - with "glow" sticks

11.15 p.m. Mug up and lights out

Saturday August 20th

07.30 a.m. Rise and Shine (showers based on facility availability)

08.00 a.m. Breakfast

09.00 a.m. Discussion - How to listen to and serve God

Boys change into Timber Wolf / Explorer uniform

10.00 a.m. Depart for tour of Mary Queen of the World Cathedral Tour

10.30 a.m. Mary Queen of the World - visit and guide and lunch in a nearby park / green space

12.45 p.m. Visit and tour of Chapelle - Nortre-Dame de bonsecours in Old Montreal - tour by Diane Jolly

1.45 p.m. Private Mass at Chapelle Notre-Dame de bonsecours (by L of C Priest)

2.45 p.m. Depart for Nortre-Dame Basilique

3.30 p.m. Tour of Nortre-Dame Basilique (if time permits, Caplet of the Divine Mercy prayers at the front of the church).

4.15 p.m. Visit of the "Treasures"

5.45 p.m. Dinner at a fast food location, location as available and selected by the Timber Wolves and Explorers.

6.30 p.m. Light and Sound Show and a game/ on foot tour to learn about the Religious History of old Montreal

8.30 p.m. Return to camp site, change out of uniforms, free time for the boys, wide game as organized by Lynx and Beaver.

9.30 p.m. Evening prayers (Rosary), mug up, showers and lights out.

Sunday August 21st

7.00 a.m. Rise and shine, pack gear, Breakfast

8.00 a.m Into uniforms, load vans, Inspection and depart for Oratory St. Joseph

8.45 a.m. Visit to and tour of Oratory St. Joseph

10.00 a.m. Rosary Prayers at a suitable location together

10.45 a.m. Gather for Mass (can we get some seats set aside for our group - to be confirmed)

11.00 a.m. Mass at Oratory St. Joseph (Mass in French, singing by a world renowned boys choir).

Noon Picnic style lunch on the grounds and visit to gift shop and free time

1.00 p.m. Depart for Legionaries of Christ Centre in Cornwall for balance of Pilgrimage

2.30 p.m. Arrive at Legionaries of Christ Centre in Cornwall

2.45 p.m. Group discussion - How to serve and love others, within our Baden Powell Explorer group or movement and within day to day life.

3.30 p.m. Mass with full participation and reflection on the part of the Timber

Wolves and Explorers at the Legionaries of Christ Centre in Cornwall

4.30 p.m. Depart for home - to assigned cars, boys can change out of uniform tops to camp T shirts

6.30 p.m. Stop at a fast food restaurant for dinner (30 minutes allotted)

7.00 p.m. Continue with the drive home

10.00 p.m. Arrive at Baythorn Public School - end of Pilgrimage
