FNE Group in the USA Turns One Year Old - November 03!

It is with great joy that we highlight the success of our first Federation of North-American Explorers group in the USA.  A special message of congatulations was sent to our 1st North Star Group.... as follows:

Dear Brother and Sister leaders, youth and Parents of the 1st North Star Explorer Group:

On behalf of your brothers and sisters in Canada and in Europe we wish to express to you our collective congratulations on this your first anniversary of our first FNE group in the USA!  We truly marvel what you have accomplished in this short first year and the ever increasing challenging and exciting programs that you offer to the boys and girls enrolled in the 1st North Star group for their net benefit and thereby by extension their families, their community and our Catholic church.

Society today whether it be in the USA, Canada or in Europe presents largely a culture of death and self entitlement with little or no regard for the things of God.  Our FNE movement is a counter-cultural one whereas it takes courage to be different, to swim against the tide, and therefore at the end of our respective lives be able to enter through the narrow gates into heaven. Ask what the real end goal of FNE is?  It is to be a tool for the Lord to use to help save souls through the program that we offer for not only the youth entrusted to our care but also by extension our families and those volunteer leaders who through much personal sacrifice plan and deliver our exciting program.

In June of 2012 our respective FNE families came together at Camp Turner for a weekend of brotherhood and sisterhood whereas we could all see that together we are the same blood you and I.  It was truly a sight to behold to see the youth and their leaders great one another early on that first Saturday morning as family and then to play, pray and work so well together.

Our FNE experience further blossomed when a number of timber wolves and their leaders made the trek to Canada and Camp Endobanah for summer camp... an awesome adventure and time together.  We look forward to an even more exciting shared summer camp together for not only our boys but this year if circumstances and your family resources allow as to child care etc for our girls too at their own summer camp at Point Pelee National Park.

As the General Commissioner and  Founder for the Federation of North-American Explorers here in North-America I wish to especially acknowledge the founding leaders for the 1st North Star group under the leadership of the Group Leader and founder Chris Hassan  for the amazing job that you have done and continue to do and for the love that you have and show for the youth entrusted to your care.  Know this... you are making a significant positive difference in the youth who are members of our FNE family - thank you and please keep up the good work.

Our FNE program is a very deep and life changing one... so what does this mean... look at what the program experience has done for your sons or daughters... and yet on a scale of one to ten you are at a positive two... it gets even better with experience and future training for the leaders here in the greater Philadelphia area when I return to visit you for a special leader training weekend in early 2013.  The next really big adventure... Eurojam in August of 2014 in France with 10,000 of our brothers and sisters!

Know that your brothers and sisters prayed for your protection and growth since the birth of your group one year ago and most recently during Hurricane Sandy and that we will continue to do so for you all in the months and years to come.  The Lord really listens to your prayers and ours... look what he has done and continues to do for you all.  We love you Jesus!  Thanks be to God for his mercy, love and kindness.  Thank you Father Paisley for your amazing support for our 1st North Star FNE Group, it is sincerely and deeply appreciated!

So on closing keep up the good work and we look forward to many shared camps and other adventures together in the months and years to come!  Please include your brothers and sisters both for our youth and for our adult leaders and supporters such as board members in your prayers as we need them to be able to hear and do the Lord's will.

RESPONSE from Group Leader and Founder:

Dear Paul,

Thank you for this.  It was a year ago that you came down and brought us into the FNE family and our lives haven't been the same.  We've seen the response both the children and parents have had to the movement and how it has already helped to change their lives.  The leaders too, that we've been blessed with and have seen what it means to be a part of FNE and giving our all to develop our group in the USA.

Of course none of this would have been possible without your guidance and mentorship, and the prayers, love and support of our brothers and sisters in Canada.  As we celebrate our first year together, we continue to remember the gift you've given us and the brotherhood we've shared thus far.  Even our group name, 1st North Star, chosen for the symbolism of Our Lady and the Church as our guide was a nod to our brothers from the north and the example and guide they have provided for us.  Generations down the road, I wanted our group to remember our gratitude to you and from whom we got our start.

It was two years ago that you and I began working on bringing the movement to the US, and on a personal note, I am always greatly appreciative, more than you'll know, for your friendship, your willingness to mentor me and work so closely with me to develop our group.  You are always willing to answer emails to my myriad of questions, to teleconference when necessary, and even to come down to provide training.  You've known how to help us become better leaders by trusting us to assist with your program at summer camp, or even to arrange our North-American camp last spring, and have always understood how to bring out the best in us when we ourselves weren't sure we had it in us.

When we saw how the kids all responded, seeing truly that they were brothers and sisters, we realized how deep and rich this movement is, and how blessed we are to be a part of it.  We ultimately owe our existence to your courage to swim against the stream and bring this movement to North-America.  So to you, your board of directors, a couple of whom we had the pleasure to meet at summer camp, and to your entire1st Four Arrows family, whom we count ourselves blessed to call our brothers and sisters, we give you thanks from the bottom of our hearts.  Hearts which are certainly deeper today because of our new lives as Explorers as part of the FSE/FNE family.

Yours in Christ,

Chris Hasson
